Redraw the Line Campaign
My Role: Design & Research
As a part of one of my courses we read through the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee Student Voice article’s that highlight the struggles of the African American community during the Civil Rights era. From there, my group and I had to decide what we wanted our project to entail. We knew we wanted to focus on segregation within the school system, specifically focusing on districting and gerrymandering. Our project serves to provide resources and information for others via our Instagram page, @redrawtheline, as well as creating a series of posters and buttons for the campaign. The name "Redraw the Line” stems from the idea that modern-day segregation comes from the district lines that are drawn and those lines should be redrawn to allow for equal representation in the school system.
